Crystal Palace’s glorious run to the FA Cup final on May 21 has had a knock-on effect for the beer lovers of south London.

The Palace beer festival has been moved to May 28 to avoid clashing with the showpiece final at Wembley.

The festival, now in its sixth year, showcases beers, ales and ciders from all over the country, including the Cronx Brewery in Croydon.

The festival will take place in the Holmesdale Road stand at Selhurst Park from 12pm to 7pm, and will also include live music and entertainment from local bands.

Last year’s event was a sell-out and 3,000 tickets are available for this year’s event, costing £10 in advance or £15 on the day.

A new addition to the festival is a special preview evening, which is being held on Friday May 27 from 6pm-10pm, and includes a special tasting session, food reception and commemorative tankard.

Tickets cost £30, or £35 for a weekend pass to both the preview evening and the festival.

Tickets for the festival are available from cpfctickets.com or by calling 08712 000071, and every one who attends the festival will receive a commemorative glass.

Tickets already purchased are valid for the new date.
