Orpington College, the leading Financial Services Apprenticeship training provider in London and the south is driving the skills agenda within the financial services industry.

In partnership with Pearson, the world’s leading education company, and as a member of the National Skills Academy in Financial Services, we have joined forces to co-host the Financial Services Skills Conference.

This exciting event is taking place on July 7, 2011 and will be held in the Great Hall at the Chartered Insurance Institute in the City of London.

The conference will include a panel of experts within the industry, including keynote speakers from the National Apprenticeship Service, the Financial Skills Partnership, the Open University, Pearson Learning and Lee McQueen, former winner of The Apprentice.

There will be a focus on apprenticeships at the conference. In the current economic environment, apprenticeships offer an alternative method for employers to increase their competitive advantage through the development of their workforce. Now more than ever, employers need enthusiastic staff with the right skills. As a Government priority, financial service apprenticeships were developed with businesses in mind to ensure that they met the requirement of the financial services industry.

The event will attract key decision makers from the financial services industry who are keen to find out about attracting talent, training existing staff and meeting the requirements of the FSA and training and competence policies.
