For 30 years JACE Training has been offering apprenticeships and working with local businesses to invest in their future work force and offer opportunities for young people in their community.

JACE currently has more than 500 apprentices working towards their Level 2 or Level 3 qualifications in a range of subject areas including everything from childcare, playwork, business and administration to customer service and information technology.

“The training side of the apprenticeship is good because you learn a lot and have the chance to get involved and contribute in the workshops.

“You also make good friends and build relationships with other learners on your course,” said Becci and Sophie, two Level 2 apprentices with JACE.

“JACE found me a work placement in a nursery and I’m really enjoying it,” says Josie, a Level 3 apprentice with JACE, “The nursery treats me as a member of staff not a student. They help and give me a lot of tips on how to be a good childcare practitioner and I have now been made a key worker.”

“I have gained a huge amount of confidence that I would not have got if I had stayed on at school or college,” reveals Catherine, studying her Level 2 apprenticeship with JACE.

“Equally businesses who recruit an apprentice benefit from a young person eager to learn and able to develop according to their business culture and needs.” Chris Pritchard, the owner of the Jancett Group of Day Nurseries, Playsafe Clubs and JACE Training, who has been an employer herself for more than 40 years, believes work-based learning is an excellent platform for providing young people with the opportunity to learn knowledge and hands on skills in a job they enjoy and they feel responsible in.

Chris can count many of the apprentices who started with her 30 years ago straight from school among the qualified and dedicated trainers, assessors and management team who work with her today.
