I have this friend.

Well ex-friend, which is kind of the point of this entry.

I’d just about cut him out of my life last year and since then I’ve been wandering round singing "tra-la-la".

Then the git goes and "pokes" me on Facebook.

Now I realise that Facebook is a social networking site. But quite frankly a year of not speaking to someone, not returning their phone calls and bad mouthing them to anyone who’ll listen, should give them the idea that you don’t want to socialise with them - in virtual reality or reality otherwise.

A year of shunning is not a secret suggestion that they should get on some big time prodding jaunt with their pointy shunned finger poking in my direction.

What’s worse, I decided to check out his profile, just because I can’t help myself.

And he seems really happy.

Which just makes me sick. When I give someone a shunning I expect them to be rocking back and forth on a street corner tearing at their clothing and bemoaning their now pointless existence.

I do not expect them to be getting on with their life and then poking me in order to point out how wonderful that life is.

Grr.
