Officers are trying to track down this man after a 20-year-old passenger had a knife pressed to his face on a train between Crystal Palace and Dalston Junction.
The victim had been talking to a man on the train but the man became threatening after he was asked to stop smoking cannabis, police said.
He pressed the knife against the victim’s face, told him to take off his shoes and told him he wanted his laptop and mobile phone.
The victim tried to walk off, but the man punched him in the face, before getting off the train at Sydenham.
The incident happened at noon on August 29 but the British Transport Police have only just appealed for help from the public.
Anyone who recognises the suspect is asked to call the British Transport Police on 0800 405040, or text 61016, quoting reference SSUB/B4 of 21/10/2014.
Or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
